Research Interests:

In our group, we engineer superconducting microwave circuits to experimentally explore the role of quantum mechanics in macroscopic, mechanical systems.  Combining the tools of nanolithography, cryogenic measurements, and microwave quantum optics, we fabricate circuits in which radiation pressure forces from microwave photons can be used to control and to measure mechanical motion at the quantum level.  We are particularly interested in applications related to quantum information processing, precision measurement, thermometry and quantum-enhanced sensing.
