CU Wizards Science Shows
Great for Families and Grades 5-9
The CU Wizards program is an informal introduction to astronomy, chemistry and physics. It is aimed at students in grades 5 through 9, but some of our biggest fans are adults. Each program lasts about an hour and includes lively demonstrations and experiments.

Saturday Physics Series
For Adults & High School Students
Teachers, this is a great idea for extra credit!
At each Saturday Physics talk, adults and high school students meet a University of Colorado professor and learn about his/her research. Talks are presented at the level of high school juniors and seniors. The series is free, open to the public, and no reservations are required. Simply come and enjoy the show!
Physics Education Technology Project
For Students, Teachers and the General Public
The Physics Education Technology project creates computer technology and supporting resources aimed at improving the learning and appreciation of physics for a wide range of students, teachers, and the general public. This technology is based on interactive java applications that automatically download and run on your home computer when you click on the appropriate link on the PhET website. These java applications allow users to explore phenomena and gain visual and conceptual models of the underlying physics principles and their relationships.
Lecture Demonstration Database
Resources for K-12 Teachers & University Instructors
Through images, videos, animations, and instructions for use, this website presents Colorado's premiere database of demonstrations and audio-visual items for teaching physics. Live Tables of Contents for each area of physics and a search engine aid navigation of demonstrations only, audio-visual items only, or a combination of both.
Outreach from FLC MRC
Programs for HS Students & K-12 Teachers
The FLC MRC Outreach and Education mission is to offer innovative, experiential opportunities and programs to meet the increasing needs for in-depth, inspirational education in contemporary science.
Teachers may be especially interested in the FLC MRC
Research Experience for Teachers program.
Science Discovery
Teacher Development, Classes, Camps and Kits
This summer Michael Dubson of Physics will present a one-day workshop for teachers. Using a written curriculum and videotapes, Dubson will illustrate convection and the physics of thermodynamics including heat, density, buoyancy, and convection in the Earth's systems. Middle school teachers are especially encouraged to attend. The workshop will be held June 25, 2002. For more information contact Karen Hyde Edgerly, 303-735-6566.
