Topic: Teaching – The good, the bad, and the ugly

Abstract: This discussion will feature three speakers, each presenting a brief teaching activity related to physics. Participants will have the pleasure of critiquing each teaching activity for the purpose of learning what techniques do and do not work. We will explore a couple of theoretical frameworks from education, cognitive science, and physics education research, which allow us to understand why these techniques do and do not work. These activities will prepare you for your upcoming microteaching session as part of the PFPF certification.
