overview

ERIC CHWANG received a B.A. in philosophy from Cornell University in 1996, an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in 2003, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University in 2005.  He was a post-doctoral fellow in bioethics at the National Institutes of Health from 2005 until 2007, when he joined the CU philosophy department.

Eric's interests lie in the areas of applied ethics (especially medical ethics, and especially especially issues surrounding medical research), normative ethics, political philosophy, and the philosophies of science and language.  He is currently preoccupied with the notion of consent.

When he's not thinking about philosophy or recovering from acute wiiitis, he tries to encourage the misconception that he is athletic and outdoorsy, by posting pictures of the first time he ever went rock-climbing in his entire life on various websites.
