David BarnettPhone: (303) 735-3034 DAVID BARNETT's research areas are mainly in metaphysics and philosophy of language. He has published papers on topics including the necessity of origins thesis, the theory of stuffs, scientific essentialism, and vagueness. His papers include "The Problem of Material Origins" (Noûs, 2005), "Some Stuffs Are Not Sums of Stuff" (Philosophical Review, 2004), "Against A Posteriori Moral Naturalism" (Philosophical Studies, 2002), "Vagueness-Related Attitudes" (Philosophical Issues 10: Skepticism, 2000), and "Is Water Necessarily Identical to H2O?" (Philosophical Studies, 2000). Professor Barnett’s recent work centers on conditionals, propositions, and modality. |
