The Hiddenness of God
To many people it is not obvious that God exists. Even after looking at all the evidence and arguments that can be marshaled in favor of theism, they find themselves quite unable to believe. According to some non-theists, this provides a strong reason for thinking that God does not exist. But even for a theist, the “hiddenness” of God may pose a troubling question. Why, if God wants our love and devotion, should it be so hard for some people to discover that God exists?

Featured Speakers
The conference will feature three plenary speakers, who will address different aspects of this problem.

  • John Schellenberg will present “The Problem of Hiddenness and the Problem of Evil”

  • C. Stephen Evans will present Can God be Hidden and Evident at the Same Time?"

  • Daniel Howard-Snyder will present “What’s Wrong With Skepticism About God’s Purposes?”

All conference participants will be invited to join in the discussion following each session. In the concluding session, all three invited speakers will participate in a panel discussion.
