The Panel Discussion on Petitionary Prayer

Pictured are the three participants (from left to right):

Prof. Jim Cook, Prof. Victoria Harrison-Carter, and Father Dave Dwyer.

The discussion was titled "Does God Answer Prayer?"  We would like to thank the participants for the wonderful discussion.  It was well attended, and very interesting.  In fact, there were enough questions from the audience, that the talk lasted 45 minutes beyond the scheduled time!  After this success, we hope to do more panel discussions in the future.

The evening talk given by

Prof. Thomas Talbott of Willamette University

Special thanks to Prof. Thomas Talbott of Willamette University for the recent talks on October 30th.  The afternoon talk given to the students of the Theology Forum Seminar (and also open to the public) was titled "Re-thinking the Doctrine of Original Sin."  The talk allowed for a lot of dialogue with the audience, and was so interesting it ran 30 minutes over!  The evening talk entitled "Why the Traditional Understanding of Hell Contradicts the Christian Concept of God" was also very interesting.  The talk went well with the book being studied in the Seminar entitled "The Inescapable Love of God," which was written by Prof. Talbott.
