"Some Failed Responses to the Problem of Evil"

The Argument from Evil claims that the existence of bad things--or the existence of the kind and number of bad things that we observe in this world--is adequate reason to deny the existence of God. All of the common attempts to explain why God would allow evil seem entirely unpersuasive. I show this by considering how these responses to the problem would fare if applied in a non-theological context.
