I, for one, believe that finances and taxation becomes
complicated for various reasons.
So, while, I pride myself in comprehending the IRS rules
for taxation, I do not, nonetheless, endorse ANY plan
on the merits of "simplicity."

For reasons, unknown to me, we resist a VAT -- which many
of our Europeans neighbors have used for many years.
And, my economics background does not prepare me to address
the relative advantages of the VAT (value added tax), as
compared with our current, US, tax system, or this newer
one that Bush proposes.
