page. This link describes many diverse jobs and is definitely worth checking
out. The WWF is the world's largest conservation organization aimed at providing
a living planet to future generations. For 38 years, the WWF has worked to
protect wildlands, wildlife, endangered species and spaces. The WWF's projects
range from the establishment of urban parks to the protection of exotic
animals. RAINFOREST ACTION NETWORK: San Francisco: Job openings, intern
and volunteer opportunities are accessed by linking to the headings titled,
'About RAN' and 'What You Can Do' which leads to the link 'Work At Ran'.
Updated job openings are provided at this site. An unpaid internship is also
available at RAN headquarters in SF. The internship requires 12 hours a week
and compensates transportation costs. The Rainforest Action Network is geared
at protecting the earth's rainforests and it's inhabitants. The network was
born after a sunccessful campign to boycott Burger King in 1985. Ever since,
RAN has worked to bridge activists in indigenous countries with scoially
responsible citizens here. In addition, RAN is concerned with free trade and

in diverse areas including; Research Director, Finance Director and Database
Networker. PAI advocates effective policy and programs to combat our ever
expanding population in order to enhance the quality of life for all. PAI
supports volunteer family planning, reproductive rights, health services and
educational and economic opportunity for girls and women.

Environmental Organizing USPIRG & STATE PIRG'S: Nationwide Opportunities: US and state PIRG's
continuously offer paid opportunities with a social conscience. This link is
amazingly comprehensive, mostly because the PIRG job opportunities are
too. Jobs and internships for students, recent grads and those with advanced
degrees are readily available. From campus organizer to Campaign For A Green
Future are provided at this site. The PIRG's primarily focus on natural resource
protection, the struggle for a healthy environment, consumer rights and
government accountability. SIERRA CLUB'S OFFICIAL SITE: Offering nationwide opportunities: This site offers information on an assortment of opportunities, ranging from magazine interns to chapter director. On the first page of this site, listed under the heading 'about Sierra Club' are 'jobs at Sierra Club'. This link lists over 25 jobs in diverse fields and areas around the country. Many of the positions available are located in DC and SF, but Sierra's regional chapters also follow through with their own recruitment. Born and inspired in 1892 by John Muir, the Sierra Club is one of the countries largest conservation organizations. They are currently grappling with fair trade, land and ocean conservation and restoration and efforts to educate the masses. This link also provides information about internships available in DC and SF which are remunerated with a $200/wk allowance.
