Instructional Technology Use: Student Survey, Fall 2005

In September, 2005, Planning, Budget, and Analysis (PBA) assisted the office of Academic and Campus Technology in surveying a sample of undergraduate and graduate students about their use of instructional technologies. The survey was intended to gather data on how instructional technologies are used in furthering the education and learning of students in the classroom and as part of an overall assessment of the campus's instructional technology environment.

The web-based questionnaire was administered by PBA to a stratified random sample of 2,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 graduate students. Strata included class level and A&S division/discipline college. To encourage students to respond, an opportunity to win a grand prize of $200 or one of 20 gift certificates to Buchanan's and Half Fast Subs was offered to all who completed the web-based questionnaire by October 10, 2005. A total of 744 students responded, for an overall response rate of 25% (22% of undergraduates and 31% of graduate students).
