QID 003 : Black/African Amer
This is a good questionaire I think. It is a small step in the right
direction. But it will hardly do anything productive about the rampant racism
that exist on all levels at CU-Boulder.

It's nice to know the UCB is making efforts to improve.

If you already said every group, then why repeat and say including whites.
Until people in the American culture stop focusing on the ever so delicate
issue of race and being so intense about diversifying every aspect of life, we
the people will continue as we are. Let's realize that different is good, but
not if people feel that they must focus on why they are different from others.
Instead let's live together and start striving for equality and education for
people not colors. Thanks for the questionnaire.

This is a helpful questionnaire. But I think that it is pretty unrealistic
to get a diverse set of opinions in such an undiverse school. I don't feel
that there are enough African-American students that go to CU to give fair
representation of our opinions - or for that matter there are not enough
"minorities" of any background to have our opinions weigh to the majority white
opinion. Also, I am very upset that there has been nothing done by the
administration and alumni of CU about the hate mail that the minority
organizations have been receiving. I don't feel that CU has provided equal
access to students instate or elsewhere. And in 1998 that is a pity!

This is an excellent questionaire about issues on campus. However, my
concern is the cost of the survey and on how it affects me in my tuition money.
I question how it was funded.

It give me hope to know that the most powerful country in the world is
taking action in issues that involve human diversity. The visionary mission to
unity all kinds of idiosyncrasies to identifying thesleves first with the fact
that they are humanbeings. My ideal is to get individuals to feel that they
are "citizens of the world." This questionare shows the interest the US
communities have taken to change their own socio-cultural environment.

A good questionnaire. Didn't address issues of passing.

Q
QID 170 : Native American
That's great news. I would like these questionnaires to be mailed to
all students.

Yes, that racial/ethnic issues need to be a great priority for this campus.
Along with being discussed more within administration, the classrooms and they
need to be more visible within the campus environment/community. P.S> It
would be nice to know how much $ was spent printing this questionnaire, getting
it together and all other costs associated with it.

Q W
QID 074 : White
I think this questionnaire is a good start, but there needs to be something
done. It's obvious that the majority of people on this campus are white and we
learn about white cultures in classes.

Q
QID 234 : White
I believe that the questionnaire was a good idea, and I thank you for
giving me the opportunity to express my ideas on this topic.

Nothing really except that people make too many issues about race and worry
about it too much. Just be yourself and people will accept you or not accept
you as you are. Race isn't as important as it used to be and it is an excuse
that society uses to explain problems in the world.

Q T
QID 287 : White
This survey is important to see where UCB stands in student mind on issues
of diversity. Unfortunately, when you try to promote diversity by
concentrating on specific, limited groups you are bound to leave someone out!
For example, I am a non-traditional, economically disadvantaged student, but
you can't tell by looking at me, so people expect more from me that I can
really give. It's been extremely difficult to adjust to life on campus for
me.

I think it is great that CU is concerned about the campus community and how
the students feel
.

Well I don't know if it was a good or bad thing to give participants money
for filling out the survey before they did it.

I'm sure it did go to whites I am white. My problem is not with ethnicity
or race. It is with those that can't differentiate between equality, and
reverse discrimination.
