National Survey of Student Engagement: CU-Boulder 2000

AAU versus UCB Analyses for Specific Majors

Students responding to the 2000 NSSE indicated their major or expected major by selecting a discipline from a list (e.g., education, visual and performing arts) or by writing in a specific major. Several disciplines contain a sufficient number of respondents to allow for separate analyses by AAU institution.

An institution's data are included in the by major, by class-level analyses if there are at least 17 majors for a class-level. In most cases, institutions meeting the minimum criteria for inclusion had sufficient numbers of both freshmen and seniors. However, in some cases, an institution may have had enough freshmen to be included, but not enough seniors, or vice versa. In these cases, data for the class level with at least 17 cases are included in analyses, while data for the class level with fewer than 17 are omitted. See the number of responses for each AAU institution by class level.

AAU institution-specific results are displayed for the following major groups:

Note that all but one of the groupings (computer science) combine multiple majors. This is the format used by NSSE and we are unable to separate specific majors (e.g., CU-Boulder biochemistry only) within a grouping.
