Alert #2 to faculty who are filling out the NRC Faculty Questionnaire

Sent Wed 2/7/07, 1-3pm.  Subject: NRC faculty Q. invitations coming

NRC will send invitation emails to UCB faculty for the NRC faculty questionnaire starting TODAY, extending 2-3 days.

The invitations will contain a link to the NRC questionnaire, plus a username and password.

The questionnaires will display info we sent NRC on individual faculty, including your publications from FRPA, grant/contract counts, tech transfer, and more.

If you received this email, you should get an invitation from NRC.  You are listed as Core or New faculty on the “faculty list” of at least one UCB program.  You are eligible, even if you’re emeritus or not tenured/tenure-track.  You’ll have one questionnaire even if you’re listed for more than one program.

Responding to the NRC questionnaire is important.  The NRC study will produce ratings and rankings that will be heavily used for years to come.  And NRC will NOT use any of the info we sent about you unless you respond personally.

Deadlines: 2/22 if you want to be surveyed in April in the “anchoring study,” April 1 if you don’t care about that.

We have posted a crib sheet for faculty.  Read it first.   It tells you how to do the questionnaire quickly and efficiently and how to get help.  Click on or paste in

http://www.colorado.edu/pba/nrc/FQCrib1.htm

The NRC contacts in your program/department should also be ready to help.  And our UCB NRC site also shows

  • A longer piece on questionnaire logistics – if you have troubles
  • A UCB markup of the full questionnaire showing critical items, sources, etc.
  • A lookup on dissertation committees, reported in Section A of the questionnaire
  • Details on grants/contracts we reported in Section E
  • PDF’s – one for each person – showing everything we submitted to NRC, by NRC questionnaire item.

Get to all these at

thanks!
