2006-2007 Faculty Salaries by College and Department
With Comparisons to AAU Public Peers

Highlights of the Comparisons:

The comparisons for 2006-07 reflect the cumulative effect of salary increases made in summer 2006 for 06-07, the mid-year salary adjustments made at CU-Boulder Arts and Sciences in January 2007, and mid-year adjustments made by other CU-Boulder colleges in March 2007. 

Given these changes and focusing on college (not department) averages and on change in the relationship to peer salaries over time

• CU-Boulder full professors moved from 7% under peers to 4.7% under peers (05-06 to 06-07). This is primarily due to change in Arts and Sciences, where full professors moved from 8.7% under peers to 4.8% under peers. • For associate professors the situation is mixed, with improvement in some colleges, deterioration in others. Arts and Sciences associate professors moved from 2.7% under peers to 3.8% over. http://www.colorado.edu/pba/facstaff/facsal/2006-2007/displayDall2.htm
• For assistant professors the situation is also mixed. Arts and Sciences assistant professors moved from 2.9% under to 0.7% over peers, Engineering from 2.8% over to 4.6% over.  http://www.colorado.edu/pba/facstaff/facsal/2006-2007/displayDall3.htm

CU-Boulder salaries for new hires are over the peer average for full (5.8%) and associate (1.7%) ranks, at the peer average for assistant professors (-0.1%, but -0.7% in Arts and Sciences). http://www.colorado.edu/pba/facstaff/facsal/2006-2007/displayCall.htm

Within A&S departments, full professor salaries remain below the peer mean for 14 of 20 departments with five or more full professors.
