Introduction

This site provides information on CU-Boulder faculty salaries compared to those at other institutions, by school, college, and department, for the three most recent years.

To ensure comparability, displays B - G are for ranked faculty only: Professor, associate professor, and assistant professor titles. Display A provides figures for CU-Boulder ranked faculty and instructors (instructor and senior instructor titles). Individuals with tenure or tenure-track appointments who also have administrative appointments such as chancellor or faculty director are not included because their salaries reflect both administrative and faculty duties.

Please see Definitions and Guide to the Displays and Sources and Calculation Methods for details.

Timetable:  We typically post CU-Boulder only data, Display A1 and A2, by school/college and department in December each year. Comparisons with peer institutions, Display B through Display G, are posted when the data become available, usually June or July.

In keeping with usual CU-Boulder practices in doing peer comparisons, the list of comparison institutions as defined as U.S. AAU public institutions (all are Research I except the University of Oregon) for which data are available for all three years compared. No medical-school salaries are used.
