Introduction

This site provides information on CU-Boulder faculty salaries compared to those at other institutions, by school, college, and departments.

To ensure comparability, all figures are for ranked faculty only: Professor, associate professor, and assistant professor titles.

See the list of institutions used in the comparisons shown on this site, which were published in July 1999. This is NOT the same list of institutions used in the comparisons published in January 1999, because 98-99 data were not available for two institutions (University of Minnesota and SUNY-Albany) available in earlier years. Display F also lists which institutions are involved in comparisons for A&S departments and Engineering departments.

In keeping with usual CU-Boulder practices in doing peer comparisons, the list of comparison institutions was defined as U.S. AAU public institutions (all Research I) for which data were available. No medical-school salaries were used.
