University of Colorado at Boulder Affirmative Action Program 2002

Department level data

The department reference Excel file is password-protected because it contains gender and detailed racial/ethnic information. A description of the file is below.

  • NEW 9/2003: a new gender and ethnicity detail tab has been added. See the file description for more information.

If you need access to this file, send email to IR@colorado.edu.

PLEASE NOTE that the file is very large. We recommend saving the file on your own computer if you will be accessing it frequently. Further instructions for using the file appear on the Intro tab.

NEW (9/2003). We have made available a tutorial document, which gives examples of how to use the file and describes the data in more detail (for understanding, and for resolving apparent discrepancies with other data sources).

File description

  • Affirmative action population, October 2002 and October 2001
  • Each row is a job group - department combination with counts of total employees in 2001 and 2002, demographics of employees in both years, and personnel transactions from 2001-2002 (selections (promotions plus new hires), retentions, and departures). In addition, department-specific labor pools are shown. Filters allow you to limit the display to specific departments. Contains links to details on the 2002 employees represented in each row.
  • A separate tab lists the individuals comprising each job group in each department, with name, job title and department in 2001 and 2002, gender, race/ethnicity, percent time, and full-time salary equivalent.
  • NEW (9/2003). A gender and race/ethnicity detail tab gives counts and percentages by specific racial/ethnic groups and gender for 2002. Summaries are for personnel and job groups and are available at the campus, division, college, Arts and Science cluster, or department level.
  • Another tab gives job group summaries for the campus as a whole, divisions, colleges, and Arts and Sciences clusters. Each summary level has the same demographic information shown for departments.
  • A final tab shows overall summaries for departments, across job groups (but splitting academic and non-academic jobs within each department).
