All displays use CUPA position number and position name for the basis of comparison.
- CUPA Position Definitions (PDF), describes primary duties and responsibilities
for the position.
- CU-Boulder Individuals with CUPA Position (Excel), lists CUPA position number and name, CU-Boulder
individual in the position, full time equivalent salary as of October 1, years in current position, gender,
member of a minority group, CUPA position number this position reports to,
CU-Boulder position title, and appointment percent time.
- Comparison with CU-Boulder comparing average salaries and displaying FTE,
by position.
- AAU Count: AAU head count by position
- N AAU Inst: Number of AAU public institutions submitting data for this position
- AAU Median Salary: Middle AAU salary for this position
- AAU Avg Salary: Average AAU salary for this position
- UCB Avg Salary: Average CU-Boulder salary for this position
- $ Difference: Dollar difference between UCB and AAU averages
- Pct Difference: Percentage difference between UCB and
AAU averages
- AAU StDv: AAU standard deviation, over institutions
in the AAU
- Dif/StDv: Distance between the UCB average and the
AAU mean, in numbers of standard deviations. This figure is
comparable over all positions despite differences in base salaries.
Dif/StDv's greater than 2.0, or even 1.5, indicate a difference due to more than random variation.
(This measure is also known as a z-score.)
- UCB Count: Number of individuals in the position
- Positions without a CU-Boulder position match
- AAU Count: AAU head count by position
- N AAU Inst: Number of AAU public institutions submitting data for this position
- AAU Median Salary: Middle AAU salary for this position
- AAU Avg Salary: Average AAU salary for this position
- AAU StDv: AAU standard deviation, over institutions

- C - Main Campus Heading a System
- D - Campus within a System
- Position & CUPA ID Number by Institution (Excel) Lists all institutions submitting
data for a single position, or can be used to see all the positions submitted by a single institution
