Graduation outcomes of CU Boulder PhD students

450-500 students begin doctoral work each fall.
Doctoral students generally take 5-8 years from entry to graduate.
- A few graduate sooner, a few in 9-10 years.
About 60% of entering doctoral students receive PhD's within 8 years of entering.
- 30-40% leave UCB without a degree.

Cohorts are groups of students entering doctoral work in the fall term shown
- Over 90% of all doctoral students start in fall.
Graduation is through summer 2010 in all cases
The earlier a student entered, the more (years of) opportunity to graduate by 2010 summer.
