How is CU-Boulder Funded?

With a campus population of close to 31,000 students and 7,500 employees and an annual budget of about $1.47 billion, CU-Boulder has the size and scope of a large global enterprise.

As state taxpayer funding dips below 5 percent of total revenues (near the bottom for all states), we depend increasingly on student tuition and fees, research contracts and grants, private fundraising and fee-for-service operations to cover our expenses and to make strategic investments in our educational mission.
