Carpools and Vanpools

Carpool to campus to save money, to meet new people, to reduce congestion, and to help the environment.

If you have a faculty/staff Eco Pass, the Guaranteed Ride Home program ensures that there's never a reason to worry about getting stranded at work. If your carpool or vanpool leaves without you, it will get you home free of charge.

Carpool with Zimride

CU-Boulder has launched Zimride, http://zimride.colorado.edu, a social network for ridesharing.

Zimride is a simple way to find friends, classmates and co-workers who are going the same way you are. Combining social networks and a proprietary route-matching algorithm, Zimride makes it easy to share the seats in your car or catch a ride. Zimride provides a rich social context to connect and establish trust. Zimriders can view profiles for common networks, interests and friends before deciding to share a ride.

It's simple. Have a car? Split the costs by driving fellow CU-Boulder community members. Don't have a car? Find a ride where you need to go. You save money, protect the environment, and gain access to priority carpool parking and many other benefits when you share your ride.

Membership is free and easy. All CU-Boulder students, staff, and faculty are eligible to sign-up for our private Zimride Rideshare Community here:

http://zimride.colorado.edu.

Vanpool

If you travel 20 to 80 miles to get to work, a vanpool may be for you. A vanpool is a group of six to nine people with similar commutes (consistent start time, origination, and destination) who share a comfortable van provided by a commuter organization.  Vanpool members pay a monthly fee that helps cover the costs of the van, fuel, maintenance and insurance. Driving responsibility is shared and negotiated amongst the drivers. Also, be sure to list your vanpool on Zimride's website to help fill empty seats!
