Parent Fund Committee
Goal
The CU Parent Fund Committee is comprised of CUPA board members and non-board members who assist the CU Foundation in raising funds from parents of CU students and to support the Division of Student Affairs and other projects that impact the undergraduate community.
Objectives
- Help establish a “Tradition of Giving” among parents of current students
- Educate parents about the Parent Fund and the importance of charitable giving to the University of Colorado
- Help to achieve the annual fundraising goals of the CU Parent Fund
Strategies
- With the Parent Fund Coordinator, provide input as needed on annual strategies and long-range goals
- Represent CUPA and Parent Fund Committee in solicitation literature, including direct mail, brochures, newsletter articles, etc.
- Provide feedback to the CU Foundation on Parent Fund literature, direct mail, brochures, invitations etc.
- Plan and attend events
- Support stewardship activities through Parent to Parent contact, including Thank You calls, events and other activities
- Identify potential donors and volunteers through personal contacts and events
- When appropriate and if comfortable, assist in the cultivation and solicitation of potential and current donors
- With the Parent Fund Coordinator, visit the Telephone Outreach Program to share Parent Fund message with student callers
- Participate in other fund raising efforts as needed
- Make a meaningful and regular monetary contribution to the CU Parent Fund
