The Parent Fund is a special gift-giving program for parents of undergraduate students. Parent donors have made a significant difference in helping support a variety of essential programs that contribute directly to our student’s experience and success.
Private gifts allow the Division of Student Affairs to respond to an ever changing student body and ensure a timely response to critical needs. Gifts to the Parent Fund benefit students in five categories: Health and Safety, Center for Community, Student Development, Leadership and Integrity, and Parent Programs.
The University of Colorado receives less than 4% of its budget from state appropriations. Consequently, CU must look to private donors to help fill this gap and maintain the quality of its programs.
In addition, tuition and fees do not cover all of the support services available to students. Parents are asked to give to help ensure their student(s) and other students have access to exceptional opportunities on campus. Parent gifts also show support of the University and encourage all parents to give.
We ask that you consider making the Parent Fund one of your philanthropic priorities while your child attends CU. Leadership gifts of $2,500 or more are especially valuable. All gifts, no matter the size, enrich life at CU. Small gifts add up and quickly make a difference. Your participation is vital to sustaining the tradition of excellence that CU has always represented.
The CU Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law, but circumstances vary depending on each donor’s individual financial situation. We encourage you to consult with your tax attorney/advisor concerning the deductibility of your gift.
