Margot Jenson Neufeld has a deep personal commitment to education and has worked for more than 25 years in advancement and external relations. She is a native of the upper peninsula of Michigan and grew up in Tucson, AZ.
Margot worked in college admission for 8 years before moving into fundraising. Her development career includes positions at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena, CA, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, before moving to Colorado in 2005. At CU she was the first full-time development officer in the School of Education – a position she held for 10 years before moving to the Office of Campus Programs and Parent Giving in fall 2015.
Margot has Colorado roots and grew up on stories about CU – her mother is a CU alumna and grandmother was a native of Pueblo. Margot is a graduate of the University of Southern California where she earned a BA in Communication Arts and Sciences and was a four-year student athlete on the rowing team. Margot and her husband have two children (two future Buffs!) and in her free time she enjoys family and friends, college sports, cooking, and reading.

Amy Westfeldt has been in Boulder most of her adult life after being raised in Palo Alto, California. She received her B.A. in Writing and Literature from Naropa University where she studied at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics.
Amy has worked in the development field for over 10 years. Before switching fields, she worked in high tech and aerospace editing and writing. She joined the University of Colorado in February 2008 as Associate Director of Development for Campus Programs and Parent Giving.
Amy volunteers with the Boulder Mountain Fire District as a phone moblization coordinator. She also volunteers with the Boulder Mountain Fire District as a phone mobilization coordinator. Her son graduated from CU Boulder in May 2012 and is gainfully employed! She enjoys skiing, hiking, watching baseball, whether it’s Little League or the Rockies, and feeding family and friends on the deck of her home – at least when it’s not snowing or raining – in the foothills west of Boulder.
Associate Director of Development

Maura brings a decade and a half of development experience with her to the Campus Programs and Parent Giving team. She holds a BS in Education and attended grad school to study Natural Resources Management at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Her development work includes positions at The Nature Conservancy (Arlington, VA), Cheetah Conservation Fund (Namibia, Africa), The Wilderness Society (Wash DC/Denver, CO) and most recently Conservation Colorado (Denver, CO).
Prior to starting her development career, Maura spent many years on the southwest coast of Australia and was involved in the protection of the Jarrah and Karri forests. She worked on the Natural Resources Management team at Saquatucket Harbor on Cape Cod with projects such as shellfish propagation, water testing, herring run enforcement and search and rescue efforts. She also served as the ecology instructor and co-manager at a rainforest field station in Belize, Central America with the Mopan and Kekchi Mayans.
Outside of work Maura loves to hike, camp, run, rock climb, listen to live music (both indoors and out), play guitar and sing, travel and encourage her young twins to harness adventure with her.
Associate Director of Development
David is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, with CU ties that span more than 30 years. He grew up on Florida’s East Coast just a few miles from the Kennedy Space Center where his father was involved in the Apollo Space Program.
Prior to joining the Campus Programs and Parent Giving team, David spent the previous 16 years in technology selling software and cloud services to the private and public sector. David has been actively involved in a number of community and volunteer roles including serving as a Board Member for The Buffs-4-Life Foundation (Buffs helping Buffs) and The Denver Buff Club. Additionally, he has been a 20-year volunteer football coach in Boulder at Fairview High School.
David has an extended family in Colorado including seven members who also graduated from the University of Colorado, as well as his mother who served as House Director for 16 years on the Boulder campus for the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
David actively enjoys all that Colorado has to offer along with his wife, Tonja, and daughter, Madison. They enjoy camping, skiing, hiking, biking, concerts and hosting friends and family at their home.

Rowan Moody was born in Colorado but moved to Northern Virginia when she was 10 years old. She holds a B.A. in Modern Literary Studies from the University of Virginia.
Upon graduating, Rowan worked for the University of Virginia’s Children’s Hospital in development. She arrived in Boulder in August of 2014 and worked for a small start-up on the Pearl Street Mall before joining the Parent Giving and Campus Programs team in December 2014. In her free time, Rowan enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, writing, comedy, and recently has taken up snowboarding.
Senior Development Assistant

Barbara Carlough is from Ohio and has been in Colorado for the past 22 years. She started with the University of Colorado in the spring of 2012.
Prior to joining the Campus Programs and Parent Giving team, Barbara was an Executive Assistant to the CEO/CIO and CFO of Westpeak Global Advisors in Boulder. As such, she brings with her a broad range of experience including coordinating meetings and schedules, producing client reports, prospect presentations, and general marketing materials, as well as maintaining office databases. She has additional experience in maintaining the compliance program, office management and human resources administration. Prior to Westpeak, she was the assistant to the President and Creative Director of an advertising agency, which included managing the production of all projects from start to finish.
Barbara enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, traveling, and tap dancing. She and her husband are avid gardeners. When possible, she volunteers at a local animal rehabilitation center.
