What to Expect

When making your final plans for orientation, don’t forget the following important items!

Buff OneCards (CU student ID)

REQUIRED—All CU-Boulder students MUST use the Buff OneCard Request Form to order their official student ID, the Buff OneCard. Complete the form included in your orientation confirmation packet and mail in with a passport-style photo in time to be received no later than July 25, 2008. Your card will be processed during the summer and you will pick it up at your residence hall when you check in or at the Buff OneCard Office in Willard 182 (off-campus students only). When You Arrive

During the June and July programs, housing check-in begins at 7:00 a.m., orientation check-in begins at 7:15 a.m., and the first required meeting is at 8:00 a.m. The check-in times for the August sessions (for out-of-state students who cannot attend a June or July session) are in your confirmation letter.

In order to complete fall registration, all students should plan to be on campus until 5:00 P.M. on the final day of orientation. Please make travel arrangements accordingly.

Early Arrivals/Late Departures (July sessions only)

Overnight campus housing for students and parents/guests will be available one night before (early arrival), one night after (late departure) or for both one night before and one night after each July orientation session. Whenever possible, students who arrive early or stay late will be assigned to rooms withother orientation students or in adjacent rooms. Indicate your requests for extra nights in the housing section on our website. Please be sure to note the dates of your early arrival/late departure, as you will not receive confirmation of early/late reservations in your confirmation packet. Assume your space is guaranteed.

There is an additional fee for early arrivals/late departures of $26.96 double occupancy per person per night; $34.23 single occupancy per person per night, including tax. Parents/guest must pay in advance online. Students requesting early arrivals/late departures will be required to pay at orientation housing check-in (double occupancy only); no advance payment is available. If you need to make changes in your early arrival/late departure plans (including cancellation) after making your reservation, call the Office of Orientation at 303-492-4431 (local) or 877-313-6979 (toll free U.S. and Canada).

Check-in for early arrival campus housing will be at the Kittredge Commons front desk for students and parents/guests.
