New Student & Family Programs serves CU Boulder by welcoming new students and families and assisting them with their transition into our campus community. We want to hire exceptional students to help us build a legacy of CU Boulder pride starting with our new students and families. Our student staff will gain practical leadership experience, help create positive, memorable experiences for new students, and connect incoming students and families with the many academic and non-academic resources and support systems that exist on campus.

Priority deadline to submit applications is March 24. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.

  • Help instill a sense of pride in CU Boulder

  • Provide a high level of customer service by phone, live chat, email and other technologies as well as in person

  • Resolve problems and correctly answer inquiries from students and parents

  • Maintain call center database and track customer interactions

  • Take initiative, follow instructions, be flexible and punctual

  • Act as a paraprofessional in distributing information to new students and family members regarding the university and the campus community

  • Demonstrate an understanding and respect for diverse groups of individuals

  • Participate in regular professional development trainings and staff meetings

  • Create personalized experiences for students and their families as they interact with New Student and Family Programs

  • Must be a current CU Boulder student in good academic (minimum 2.0 GPA) and judicial standing

  • Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, confident, flexible, and willing to help new students and their families find resources and support at CU Boulder.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of team members, students, parents, faculty, and staff

  • Have a desire to continually learn more about CU Boulder and convey institutional pride

  • Be comfortable with completing tasks that can seem laborious or tedious (e.g. auditing inventory of materials, proofreading schedules)

  • Moving office supplies around campus during program days

  • Develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Receive in-depth training in custome

  • Salary is $10.00 per hour

  • Work 20-30 hours per week depending on class schedule and availability

  • This position will begin with intensive training May 15-26, 2017 and continue until the conclusion of Fall Welcome (September 1, 2017)

  • Journey Leaders must be available to assist with 2017 New Student Welcome Days on July 14 and July 28 as well as Fall Welcome August 20-September 1

  • Applicants must also be available for a weekly staff meeting on Monday afternoons from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM. Candidates scheduling summer classes should plan accordingly

  • If interested, applicants may have the opportunity to continue working with New Student and Family Programs during the Fall 2017 semester
