Arranging for Disability Accommodations at Your Orientation
You may request disability accommodations for orientation (interpreting services, disability parking, accessible seating, etc.) by contacting the Office of Orientation at least two weeks before orientation begins. Our toll-free number is 877-313-6979.
It is vitally important that students requiring sign language interpretation contact us well in advance of their orientation so sign language interpreters can be arranged.
Because there are significant distances between buildings used during orientation, we suggest that students using manual wheelchairs and students who have temporary injuries or mobility impairments contact us in advance of orientation so accommodations may be arranged. Important Information from Disability Services:
Disability Services (DS) reminds incoming students and their parents that accommodations are based upon evidence of impact due to a disability. Documentation requirements are published at www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/doc.html.
On the first day of their orientation session, students whose documentation has been reviewed are eligible to schedule an intake appointment with DS. This appointment will be scheduled during your orientation so as not to conflict with other required orientation activities.
DS also offers a fall welcome information session for students and parents during the final orientation in August. Contact DS at 303-492-8671 or e-mail dsinfo@colorado.edu. |
