Step 2) Plan and Register for Your Fall Courses
May In May you will also begin to review course options and plan for your fall semester course selection. As an entering student, you will build a schedule that includes both courses within the College of Architecture and Planning (designated with the Environmental Design “ENVD” prefix) and courses outside the college (like WRTG 1150). June/July You may register for courses on any one of these dates: June 17 or 24; July 8, 15, or 22; or (for late registrants) August 4 –15 You will have personal access to web-based course registration only on the single day you select, but may thereafter confer with the college’s academic advisors if you are unable to create a full-time schedule of classes. The recommended range of classes for entering College of Architecture and Planning (A&P) students is included in the A&P orientation and registration program guide accompanying your official "Invitation to Register." In general, all entering students will register for both courses taught within the College of Architecture and Planning and courses taught outside the college. General requirements taught through the College of Arts and Sciences include required Writing, Humanities and Social Sciences courses. Beginning courses in Architecture and Planning include general introductions to Environmental Design, Social Factors in Design, Ecology and Design, and Environmental Design Media. Freshmen are encouraged to plan for 15 credit hours their first semester. Please refer to specific course listing in the college orientation and registration brochure mailed to you in April. Guidelines on the tools for online course registration are provided to you by the Office of the Registrar. Your registration time assignment (listing the first of several of your registration date options), your student number, and your PIN should be listed on your official “Invitation to Register.” The Registrar’s materials also offer general guidelines and suggestions on planning a schedule and on the actual process of registration itself. You can begin drafting a fall course schedule any time after receiving your registration packet simply by accessing CU's online schedule planner, available at cuconnect.colorado.edu. While all of the necessary registration information is included in the registrar’s guidelines, a couple of additional “tips” may be helpful.
