VoiceThread
With VoiceThread, people can have asynchronous group conversations around images, documents, videos and presentations they upload to the site.
With VoiceThread, people can have asynchronous group conversations around images, documents, videos and presentations they upload to the site. Once a user shares a VoiceThread, others can comment on it verbally (with a microphone or telephone), with text, by uploading an audio file or by recording a video with their webcam. Additionally, others can review the comments and see who made them.
CU-Boulder offers a campus wide license of VoiceThread. To access this technology, go to https://colorado.voicethread.com.

- People can virtually collaborate and converse about the media uploaded to VoiceThread.
- Comments can be added several ways: voice (with a microphone or telephone); text; audio file; and video (via a webcam).
- VoiceThreads can be shared with others so they can record comments.
- Users can doodle while commenting, use multiple identities and pick which comments are shown through moderation.
- VoiceThreads can be embedded to show and receive comments on other websites and exported to MP3 players or DVDs to play as archival movies.
CU-Boulder has a campus wide license of VoiceThread. VoiceThread as a common-good service for the campus, which means there is no direct cost to an individual or department.
CU-Boulder’s VoiceThread technology is available to all CU-Boulder affiliates with an active IdentiKey.

- Login with your IdentiKey and follow any on-screen steps, such as agreeing to Terms of Use and confirming your Digital ID Card.
- Faculty can send a request to help@colorado.edu to have their new VoiceThread accounts promoted from "Basic" to "Pro"

All support for VoiceThread is provided by the vendor. When logged in to your VoiceThread account, you can use the Help and Tutorials link to access extensive online training materials. VoiceThread also provides e-mail and phone contact information on this page, should you need to contact them for individual support.
The CU-Boulder Foreign Language Technology Program (FLTP) periodically offers workshops on using VoiceThread. CU Faculty and Staff are welcome to sign up for FLTP’s VoiceThread workshops. To see the schedule, go to the FLTP website and choose “Workshop Calendar.” Click highlighted dates on the calendar to see which sessions are offered.
