When first logging into the Cisco Unity Connection voicemail system, CU-Boulder voicemail users will be prompted to set a personal greeting and customized personal identification number (PIN). Follow the instructions below in order to set your voicemail greeting and PIN.
With a few exceptions, OIT will be enabling two new features for every Cisco Phone user on the Boulder Campus: Single InBox and SpeechView. Single InBox results in an email message after someone leaves you a voicemail message. The email includes a .wav file of the voicemail message that can be played from Outlook. SpeechView enhances the email message by including a speech-to-text transcription of the voicemail message.
Because of this added functionality, if you are expecting to receive confidential or highly confidential information, including but not limited to HIPAA and other sensitive personal identifiable information on this voicemail, when recording your greeting, please include a reminder that callers should not leave sensitive information on voicemail. Outgoing messages should state something like the following:
"Please do not leave any confidential or highly confidential information, including but not limited to, HIPAA and other sensitive personal identifiable information on this voicemail, as it is not set up to protect such information. If you have any additional security concerns, please visit the CU Security website or send an email to email@example.com."
Call the voicemail system.

When you are prompted to enter your ID, enter your campus 5-digit extension of your phone number (such as 5-xxxx or 2-xxxx) followed by #.
When prompted to enter your PIN, enter 123456 (the default PIN), followed by #.
A self-enrollment procedure will begin and you will be prompted to:
WAIT until you hear “you have finished enrollment”, then hang up. Your personal greeting and customized PIN are now set up.
*Note: If you hang up before you have enrolled completely, the first-time enrollment conversation plays again the next time you call the voicemail system.
