Setting Group Write Permission on Web Pages— Macintosh Fetch Instructions

Overview

If your website has more than one person making updates to the web pages, it is important to set the proper write permissions. Setting the group write permission will allow all of the people who are in your web site group to make and publish updates.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
  • WINDOWS

Step 1

Select the file you wish to add group write permissions to.

Step 2

Click on the Remote drop-down menu, and select Get Info.

Step 3

In the window that opens, you will see an area where you can adjust the permissions for the file. To add group write permission, check mark the box where Group and Write intersect. Click on the red exit button when you are finished.

You can perform this task for directories and multiple files at once using the same method.
