Overview

In order to open the Network Connect application for Macintosh OS 10.5 and 10.6 it must be started from a Safari browser window. This process is demonstrated below.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
  • MAC

Step 1

Open a browser window in Safari.

Step 2

Go to the VPN login page: https://cuvpn.colorado.edu.

Step 3

Log in with your IdentiKey username and password.

Step 4

You may be prompted to install a host checker. If prompted, click on Always Allow.

Step 5

Wait for the host checker to complete its process. The page will refresh to a new screen when the host checker is done. If you do not pass the host checker, you will not be able to get access to Network Connect.

Step 6

In the Client Application Sessions section, click on the Start button associated with Network Connect.

Step 7

A Network Connect window will open, displaying your connection.

Step 8

Sign Out when you are finished.

More about your connection

With this standard connection through Network Connect:

  • Your network traffic will be routed through CU-Boulder.
  • You should be able to:
    • Access all libraries resources.
    • Access file servers.
    • SSH, remote desktop, CIFS, NFS.

If you are unable to gain access to an on-campus resource with this connection, talk to the administrator of that resource.  Refer them to the help information on the VPN support page.
