OIT strongly recommends keeping the software on your personal computer up to date. Running software updates is important for the safety of your computer, as well as an essential way to keep your computer running smoothly. The following documentation shows how to manually check for software updates for Macintoch OS.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
  • MAC

Step 1

Select System Preferences from the Apple drop-down menu.

Click on the Software Update icon.

From within the Scheduled Check tab, click the Check Now button.

Your computer will then run an update and check for any software updates.
