Exchange - Windows 8 Mail Configuration

Overview

Windows 8 Mail requires IMAP connection to access OIT's current Exchange service. Follow these instructions to configure Windows 8 Mail to connect to Exchange.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
  • WINDOWS

Quick Start

 

If you already know how to configure Windows Live Mail, use the specifications below to configure for OIT's Exchange service.

  • Incoming Mail Server
    • Type: IMAP
    • Host: exchangeimap.colorado.edu
      • SSL Enabled
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 993
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password
  • Outgoing Mail Server
    • Type: SMTP
    • Host: smtp.colorado.edu
      • TLS Enabled (if supported, SSL if not)
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 25 (may vary depending on Internet Service Provider) 
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password

Step 1

From the Metro, select Mail

From the right side menu, select Settings and then Accounts

Select Add an Account

Select Other Account

Enter your E-mail address (CULoginName@colorado.edu) and Identikey Password in the corresponding fields. Click Show more details.

In the Incoming (IMAP) email server field type exchangeimap.gmail.com and in the Outgoing (SMTP) email server field type smtp.colorado.edu

Click Connect and your account will be configured.
