PalmOS uses ActiveSync to interact with OIT's Exchange service. With Exchange configured, you will be able to view the account's various mailboxes, and create custom mailboxes.

If you haven't already configured your Palm OS device device to use Exchange or synced it with your computer, follow the directions in this section . If you have previously synced your device with a computer, the instructions might be slightly different.

This tutorial is operating system independent.

Quick Start

If you already know how to configure PalmOS, use the specifications below to configure for OIT's Exchange service.

  • Host:
    • SSL Enabled
    • Domain: AD
  • User name: your CU Login Name
  • Password: your IdentiKey password

Step 1

Navigate to the Home screen, or press the Home button on the keyboard.

Step 2

(Note: If your e-mail icon is labeled Versamail, you are running an older version of Palm OS. You may need to upgrade to have full compatibility with Microsoft Exchange software).

Step 3

Enter Exchange for the Account Name (or something else to help you identify your account).

Step 4

Step 7

Step 8

Follow the remaining instructions to set up an account (e.g. selecting folders to sync, etc). Your Palm OS device should sync with the server when you're finished.

Step 9

Your Exchange account will be setup and ready to be used with your Palm OS device. If you have any issues, check the instructions that were included with your Palm OS device, or contact the IT Service Center.
