eduroam - Mac OS X Setup and Connect

The following documentation shows the process of getting your Mac device setup to connect to the eduroam secure wireless network. The screenshots below are taken from Mac OS X Yosemite, but the process should be identical for older supported versions of Mac OS X.

*Note: To install the needed software, administrator privileges are required.

Step

Open a browser and go to the Mac configuration start page (https://cloud.securew2.com/public/41406/eduroam/).

*Note: Use UCB Wireless, Guest wireless, or another network to download and first sign in to this app. Also be aware that eduroam will fail or show out of range if you’re not on campus while trying to connect.

Click the JoinNow button.

Step

The software will download.

Step

When the download is complete, open the folder of the downloaded file and double-click the WiFi_JoinNow_Wrapper.dmg icon.

Step

In the window that appears, double-click the SecureW2 WiFi_JoinNow_Wrapper icon to begin the installation.

An alert will appear asking you to confirm that you wish to open the file. Click the Open button.

Step

Type your IdentiKeyUsername@colorado.edu and your IdentiKey password in the Identikey username and Enter your password fields, then click Next.

Step

A window will appear and ask you to enter your computer's Username and Password. Enter your credentials, then click the OK button.

*Note: This requires admin rights on your computer. If you have a managed computer, contact your desktop support technician or IT Practitioner.

Step

Go to System Settings/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Profiles and double click on the University of Colorado Boulder eduroam profile.

A window will appear asking you to confirm that you wish to install the profile. Click Install...

Step

An alert will appear asking you to confirm again that you wish to install the profile. Click Install.

Step

A window will appear asking you to allow the changes. Verify your credentials using your Touch ID or computer password.

Step

The installation will complete. When finished click Done.

Step

You will now be connected to the eduroam secure wireless network.

If you are not connected, select eduroam from your available Wi-Fi networks.
