Configuring Macintosh OS for Auto-update

Overview

You can set your computer to run software updates automatically and remind you when software is out of date. The following documentation shows this process for Macintosh OS.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
  • MAC

Step 1

Select System Preferences from the Apple drop-down menu.

Step 2

Click on the Software Update icon.

Step 3

Check the boxes for both Download updates automatically and Check for updates:, then choose how frequently you would like to run these updates.

Step 4

Close the window and your preferences will be set.
