OS X 10.10 Yosemite Now Available for Download: OIT Recommendation

The latest operating system from Apple is now available for download: OS X 10.10 Yosemite. As is the case with most new operating system releases, there are initially a number of incompatibilities with commonly used applications. As a general rule, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends most users should wait for a version update which would account for any initial bugs in the major release.

Make Sure Your i>clicker Software is Updated Before October 1

Since our campus has switched to using the i>clicker national registration database for clicker registration, the CU-Boulder registration database ( is no longer needed and will be retired on October 1. The switch to a new registration database means that all instructors must update to the latest version of i>clicker software. If you neglected to update your i>clicker software at the start of the fall semester, there is still time to do so.

Record Numbers Taking Advantage of Anti-Theft Laptop Registration

The Office of Information Technology and the CU-Boulder Police Department are once again providing a free registration service for laptops and other portable computing devices and record numbers are taking advantage. A registered computer is less attractive to would-be thieves and is easier to recover if it is ever lost or stolen.
