Overview

AutoCAD is a CAD (Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Drafting) software application for 2D and 3D design and drafting. It is developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc.

Features

Licensing is available for AutoCAD and associated Autodesk products like Revit, Civil 3D, Raster Design, and 3ds Max Design. 

Cost

As of summer 2014, Autodesk products are being provided to the university for free. 

Who can get it

The free licensing of Autodesk software products is offered to faculty and students on personal computers for academic purposes only, and to academic departments on all university-owned computers. 

How to get it

Faculty and students can download AutoCAD, Revit, and other Autodesk products to their own computers from the Autodesk website http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/all.

For labs, computer clusters and other multi-computer deployments in academic departments, choose "Software for Institutions" from the Autodesk site, or contact the Site Licensing office for assistance, at 303-492-8995, sitelic@colorado.edu.
