Through software site licensing, OIT receives bulk discounts on some software. Students are strongly encouraged to own computers while at CU-Boulder. Departments are recommended to maintain a four-year replacement cycle for faculty and staff desktop computers. OIT can advise in software and hardware purchases for all three groups.
