Student Printing and Scanning - Remote Printing

Overview 

Remote printing allows you to print documents from your personal computer or laptop to OIT printers on campus. Printing from your room, office, or wireless location is easy -- just print from your computer and your document will be secured electronically for 24 hours until you go to the lab to pick it up.

Remote Driver Packages

Printer drivers are combined into one package (for each operating system) so that they can now be used for all printers around campus.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before installing any printer installers, be sure that old printers and Pharos Popup software (installed before the Spring 2013 semster) have been uninstalled. Detailed uninstallation and installation instructions for printer drivers are located on the following pages:

*Multi-Function device refers to a device that has print, copy and scan functionality.

How to Download, Install and Use

  1. Download the printer installer from the table above for the printer type you want.
  2. Install the printer driver
    • Locate the package you just downloaded and double-click on it. You will be guided through the installation process.
  3. Print
    • When you go to print your document, choose the appropriate printer for the job, i.e., color, larger paper capabilities (see printer info chart for each model’s capabilities), and click Print.
    • Your document will be secured electronically for 24 hours until you go to the lab to pick it up.
    • When you're ready, head over to the printer with your Buff OneCard or Campus Cash Card.
      *Note: You will need to use the card that matches the numbers entered when the job was sent.
