Log into your CU-Boulder account on the Gmail web client or any other Google Apps login page
Although Google asks for your “Email”, the system cannot support the use of your first.last @colorado.edu as a username. Instead, use CULoginName @colorado.edu and your IdentiKey password. Once you are in the system you can use your preferred email address (usually first.last @colorado.edu) to share resources.
You may need to enable IMAP for your account prior to configuration of your email client (https://mail.google.com). To do this:
Google Mail accessibility information can be found on the Google Mail Accessibility page.
You are encouraged to use the campus-provided Gmail service, but if you prefer to use a different email service, you should change your email delivery location using CU-Boulder Identity Manager. If you wish to store your email in your CU-Boulder Gmail account, but also forward it to another location you should make sure that your email delivery location is set to g.colorado.edu (CU-Boulder Gmail) inside CU-Boulder Identity Manager and add a forward location within Gmail.
If you want to consolidate a personal Gmail account with your CU-Boulder Gmail account, you may use Google's Mail Fetcher tool. The email client configuration instructions below can be used to help you to manually move messages from one Gmail account to another.
