Exchange - Student Employee Accounts

Student Employees

Student employees can continue to use their primary Google accounts for mail and calendaring, or the department can request a secondary Exchange account to take advantage of the calendaring and tasks features, as well as isolate work related messages onto a separate account that can be terminated when the student employee leaves the department.

Account requests

  • To request a secondary Exchange account for student employees, the student supervisor should contact the IT Service Center and provide the student's CU Login Name.

Quota levels

  • 1GB default. Additional space can be requested in 500MB increments. Visit the Storage Space page to learn more.

Display name

  • The display names for student accounts must be in the form of Last Name, First Name (Exchange) and cannot be customized for departments.

Account termination

  • Since the account is owned by the student, it will be up to them to let OIT know when the account is no longer needed. If there is an emergency termination of an account, the student's supervisor can request that the account be terminated. If appropriate, the account can be reassigned to the supervisor.
