IdentiKey - Account Provisioning and Activation

Last Updated: 04/27/2011
Overview

Learn how IdentiKey accounts are created and activated.

Students

IdentiKeys are created when you are accepted to the University of Colorado at Boulder. After being accepted, you can activate your IdentiKey by following the instructions below.

Faculty/Staff

When your information is entered into the payroll system, your IdentiKey will be set for creation. This process may take up to 48 hours. To activate your IdentiKey see the instructions below. If you cannot activate your account, ask your payroll liaison to check on your entry.

Groups, Sponsored, or Retirees

To request your IdentiKey, contact the IT Service Center at 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from an on-campus phone).

Conferences

Conferences hosted at CU-Boulder can apply for a conference IdentiKey. This single username and password can be given to all attendees to access UCB Wireless and other IdentiKey related services.

Request a conference IdentiKey

  • You must be a faculty or staff member at CU-Boulder.
  • Send an e-mail to help@colorado.edu with the following information:
    • Name of conference
    • Duration of conference
    • The request may take one business day to process.
    • You will receive an e-mail from the IT Service Center with the IdentiKey information, which you can distribute to conference attendees.
  • The conference IdentiKey will only be active for the duration of the conference.
  • The conference IdentiKey sponsor is the only person who make changes to the account, using Identity Manager.
  • If the conference you are sponsoring happens routinely, the CU Login Name can be reactivated, which you will have to request.
