Exchange - Feature Comparison

Last Updated: 10/19/2012

Outlook 2007 & 2010, Office 2011 (Mac), and Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition

These programs feature integrated e-mail, calendar, tasks (to-do), and contacts (address book) with CU-Boulder's Exchange service.  Manage calendar invitations, task assignments, and your incoming e-mail all from a single inbox. You can also schedule resources from your inbox.

Apple Mail 4.x, iCal, and Address Book on OS 10.6

The OIT Exchange service also works on the Mac through Apple OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) programs Mail 4.x, iCal, and Address Book.  Please note that tasks and notes are not synchronized between these programs and the ITS Exchange server, however, these programs do support all other features.

Outlook Web App (OWA)

The OIT Exchange service features the ability to access your e-mail and calendar information through a web browser using Outlook Web Access.  Outlook Web Access includes both a fully-featured version for users of Internet Explorer on Windows, and a basic version for customers on slower-speed Internet connections or different web browsers. IMAP programs like Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail

Supported programs like Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail can be configured to connect to the Exchange 2007's e-mail service. These programs use a process called IMAP. These programs will only connect to e-mail. Exchange calendaring, contacts, tasks, and notes are only available using other clients described above.
