Description

OIT will be clearing the mobile printing database on Friday, May 16, starting at 6:30 a.m. and concluding by 7:00 a.m. During this 30-minute maintenance window, the mobile printing service will be unavailable; additionally, users of the mobile printing service will need to re-enroll in the service after the database clearing is complete.

Impact

During the 30-minute maintenance window, the mobile printing service will be unavailable. Upon completion of the database clearing, users of the mobile printing service will need to re-enroll in the service by swiping their Buff OneCards at any print release station on campus.

Scope

The mobile printing database stores the associations between Buff OneCard numbers and the cardholders' email addresses, key correlations required in order to use the mobile printing service. This database is cleared at the start of every semester not only for security and stability reasons (e.g. clearing graduated students and stale records), but also to resolve discrepancies for users who have had to replace Buff OneCards that were lost over the course of the previous semester.
