Desire2Learn (D2L), CU-Boulder's online learning environment, will be upgraded on January 2, 2013. The upgrade will transition the service to a newer version that improves usability, offers new functionality, and fixes a number of bugs and other known issues. Status Update at 11:55 a.m., Jan. 2, 2013:The D2L upgrade did not start at 6 a.m. today as originally planned due to technical issues being addressed by Desire2Learn. Those issues have now been addressed and the upgrade will start at 12 p.m. (noon) and conclude by 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.
Status Update at 8:31 a.m., Jan. 2, 2013: Please be advised that the D2L upgrade did not commence at 6:00 a.m. today, as the team is working with the D2L vendor who needs to address a few technical issues. The team expects to begin the upgrade later in the day, during today's planned maintenance window. As a result, D2L will remain available until the upgrade commences. When the upgrade starts, users who attempt to log into D2L will be redirected to an outage page notifying them the upgrade is in progress and D2L is unavailable. Once the upgrade concludes, the outage notification page will no longer appear, and users will again be able to log into D2L.
Desire2Learn will be unavailable during the maintenance window which will start at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2 and conclude by 11:59 p.m. that same day. During the maintenance users will be unable to log in to the service.
