Service Alerts are posted for planned maintenance and unplanned service outages. By subscribing to service alerts, you will receive e-mail notification when a Service Alert has been posted and updated.
Planned outages are vital to conduct maintenance to our services. We scheduled these outages during late evening and early morning hours as often as possible to minimize campus impact. Unplanned outages can occur for a number of reasons. We work and plan diligently to minimize these outages as much as possible.
In addition to the video tutorial on managing Service Alert subscriptions, OIT also offers a step-by-step tutorial covering the same process. Please visit the Service Alerts - Managing Subscriptions tutorial to view this process step-by-step.
What services are communicated?
OIT provides numerous online services to the CU-Boulder campus (view our Service Catalog). We post Service Alerts for outages with a large campus impact (over ten minutes and/or impacting more than ten people). Additionally, we post Service Alerts for planned and unplanned outages of University Information Services (UIS) services.
How often will services be unavailable?
We strive to provide continuity of services (view our Service Level Agreements); however, planned outages are vital to complete maintenance.
How do I unsubscribe?
A link to unsubscribe is available in the e-mail notifications you receive. Additionally, an unsubscribe button is available on all Service Alert web postings.
