Cisco VPN Troubleshooting on Windows - Connect with an Ethernet cable directly to the Cable/DSL Modem

Overview

This is the fourth step in troubleshooting Cisco VPN connection problems on Windows. Follow the steps found in the Troubleshooting Guide in order.

Note: this step is for off-campus only. If you are on-campus skip to Uninstall and then Reinstall the VPN Client.

Step 1

Disable the wireless card.

Step 2

If applicable, unplug your wireless router from the Cable or DSL modem.

Step 3

Use an Ethernet cable to connect your laptop or desktop to the Cable/DSL modem.

Step 4

Verify internet connectivity (see Check for Internet Connectivity if you need assistance).

Step 5

Once the internet is working, attempt to establish a VPN connection.
